What’s Sundance?
Sundance is the premier American film festival. It’s spearheaded by Robert Redford, the man behind undeniably great films like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Jeremiah Johnson, Out of Africa and the Horse Whisperer. The movies that hit it big at Sundance are destined for greatness. Legends who’ve made their big break here include Kevin Smith, Robert Rodriguez, Quentin Tarantino, Steven Soderbergh, Jim Jarmusch and many others. And now newcomers like Raven Jackson have the same chance at film glory.
The film festival was founded by Redford back in 1978. Today, it’s organized by the Sundance Institute, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting and promoting independent filmmakers, performers and composers. It’s been held in scenic Park City, Utah, and select venues in Salt Lake City for more than three decades. However, that’s a chance that the festival will be moving to a new home in 2027. This may be one of the last years that you have a chance to attend this film festival in its original mountain setting.

Screenings are scheduled through Sunday, February 2 for 11 days and nights of unforgettable premieres and incredible parties. That’s right.
