The weather isn’t the only thing that heats up in June. Racing season hits its peak with the Indianapolis 500 in late May. This epic race is followed by the Monaco Grand Prix and Le Mans in the middle of June. Together, these legendary races represent the triple crown of motorsports.

When Is the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix?

For 2026, the Monaco Grand Prix runs from Friday, June 5 through Sunday, June 7. Practice rounds are scheduled for Friday, qualifying races are held on Saturday, and the main event starts on Sunday afternoon. Yes, you read that right. The Grand Prix is moving from its traditional spot in late May to early June.

Back in November 2024, Formula 1 announced that it signed a deal to keep the Grand Prix in Monaco and to share broadcast rights with Sky Sports F1 through 2031. Part of this deal involves moving the Grand Prix from the end of May to the first full weekend in June, for the first time in over 20 years. F1 officials stated that this was part of their goal to reduce emissions and improve efficiency. Formula 1 will now visit Miami and Canada before heading to Monaco in an effort to consolidate the intercontinental race schedules.

The Monaco Grand Prix: The Crown Jewel of Racing

Sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), Formula 1 is the highest class of open-wheel single-seater racing. It’s a multibillion-dollar brand helmed by internationally recognized drivers like Graham Hill, Michael Schumacher, Fernando Alonso and Ayrton Senna. The Monaco just happens to host the biggest, most prestigious race in the international championship known as the Grand Prix. Notable winners in Monte Carlo include Charles Leclerc, Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. While the Grand Prix isn’t the fastest race with its challenging track and terrain, it certainly is the most glamorous. More importantly, we can take you there with VIP tickets!

The Circuit de Monaco

First held in 1929, the Monaco Grand Prix is the definitive auto race. Drivers test their skills and patience over 78 laps, each spanning just over 2 miles, about 3.3 kilometers. They twist and turn through Monte Carlo and La Condamine on narrow, winding streets dating back to the 13th century. These alleyways and avenues weren’t made for modern racecars. The Circuit de Monaco is packed with tight curves and dramatic elevation changes that add to the thrill and ratchet up the challenge.

It’s a test that’s wowed racing fans for more than 80 years. The unique track creates fabulous viewing opportunities from all vantage points. There are hot spots across the city, ranging from five-star hotels to luxurious penthouses and trendy brasseries that offer incredible views and exceptional hospitality. Still others will be watching the race from their private yachts moored in Port Hercules. Serious racing fans may even helicopter between different viewing sites across the city.

The Paddock Club

While there are innumerable locations to watch the race, one of the best is the legendary Paddock Club. Like Millionaire’s Row at the Kentucky Derby, seats in this exclusive section of the grandstand make the race even better. The Paddock Club overlooks the starting line and pit for an up-close look at the teams, the cars and the drivers. It features unbeatable views of La Rascasse, the final hair-raising turn on the way to the finish line.

Current and former racing legends often stop by. And it’s a popular spot for VIP meet and greet events with big-name stars. This is where the sponsors and money behind the race go to enjoy the spectacle. Of course, the gourmet cuisine, tasteful entertainment and lively open bar also attract celebrities and other members of the jet-set crew.

Who Attends the Monaco Grand Prix?

Monte Carlo is the perfect backdrop for an adrenaline-pumping event. It’s as stylish as any James Bond movie or classic action flick. The prequalification rounds and championship attract current and former racing stars as well as celebrities, business magnates and other well-do to attendees. A-listers come from far and wide to watch the races from luxurious yachts, rooftop terraces and premium grandstand seats. Recent attendees include Dua Lipa, Naomi Campbell, Jeff Bezos, Lauren Sanchez and Sophia Vergara. Patrick Depsey, Odell Beckham Jr., Simone Ashley and film director Lee Jung-jae were also seen posing with racecars and showing off their colorful VIP badges. Even the former Olympian Princess Charlene of Monaco was on hand to congratulate the drivers and present the trophies.
