The Primetime Emmy Awards Will be Here Very Soon

October 10,2015

The 67th Primetime Emmy Awards will take place in Los Angeles on 20 September (15). Comedian Andy Samberg will host the event, which is going down at the recently renamed Microsoft Theater (formerly the Nokia Theater). All the eyes of television fans everywhere will be glued to the tube, unless, of course, you’re fortunate enough to get a few tickets to the show for you and your BFFs. Naturally, you can get them from The VIP Concierge at http://www.thevipawardshowtickets.com/VIPEvents/6/Primetime-Emmy-Emmys-Awards-VIP-Tickets.aspx
Game of Thrones appears to be the show to beat at the Primetime Emmy Awards after scoring a whoppingly impressive 24 nominations. The fantasy series, based on the books by George R. R. Martin, will compete for Outstanding Drama Series and several of its stars are vying for awards for their roles. Peter Dinklage, Emilia Clarke and Lena Headey have each been nominated in the supporting actor drama categories, and Diana Rigg is shortlisted for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series. The show also garnered nods for directing and writing.
Meanwhile, in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul), Kevin Spacey (House of Cards), Jon Hamm (Mad Men) and Jeff Daniels (The Newsroom) are among those battling for the glory. Viola Davis (How To Get Away With Murder), Taraji P. Henson (Empire), Robin Wright (House of Cards) and Claire Danes (Homeland) are a few of who are in contention for the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series award.

In the ever-popular comedy categories, Transparent, Modern Family, Veep, and Parks and Recreation are among those on the shortlist for Outstanding Comedy Series, and the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series group features familiar faces Don Cheadle (House of Lies), Jeffrey Tambor (Transparent), William H. Macy (Shameless) and Anthony Anderson (black-ish), and Lily Tomlin (Grace and Frankie), Amy Schumer (Inside Amy Schumer), Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation) and Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Veep) will face off in the Outstanding lead Actress category.

Ben Mendelsohn (Bloodline), Alan Cumming (The Good Wife), Joanne Froggatt (Downton Abbey), Christina Hendricks (Mad Men) and Uzo Aduba (Orange Is the New Black)  have each picked up supporting comedy nominations.
