Welcome to the Turf Club at Churchill Downs
The 2023 Kentucky Derby is a lot more than a horse race in May–it’s THE most famous horse race in the world. Forget about the Preakness or the Belmont States. The Kentucky Derby is the biggest jewel in the Triple Crown, and attending this event has become a major status symbol. If you find yourself sitting in the Turf Club on the first Saturday in May drinking a mint julep made with the finest Kentucky bourbon, you have arrived. The luxurious Turf Club is home to the most exclusive members-only party at historic Churchill Downs. And naturally, you and your best mates want to be there. Fortunately, VIP Concierge has tickets to the Turf Club party if you’re interested (and who wouldn’t be?). We also have tickets to a few of the other parties behind the big party.
VIP Kentucky Derby Seating on Millionaire’s Row
Located on concourse levels four and five, Millionaire’s Row is where the celebrities roost before, during and after the big race. This posh interior dining room has some of the best views of the track. Just being there, rubbing elbows with the rich and famous folks is a real thrill. Everybody has a good time at the Kentucky Derby, but the folks on Millionaire’s Row just seem to have more of a good time. Money may not buy happiness, but it sure does buy a great time during “The Greatest Two Minutes in Sports™.” You’re likely to see rock stars, movie stars, artists, athletes, horse trainers and high-rollers from far-away places with strange sounding names. If Millionaire’s Row sounds like fun to you, we have tickets for you and your crew.
Barnstable-Brown and the Louisville Social Scene
Perhaps the classiest party of all is thrown by the Barnstable twins, Patricia and Priscilla. You probably know them as the original Doublemint Twins. The Derby Eve Barnstable-Brown Party goes down on the Friday night before the Run for the Roses. It’s held at Patricia’s private home on Spring Drive in the posh Highlands section of Louisville. A few of the celebrities who went to the Barnstable-Brown Gala in recent years were Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit cover girl Kate Upton, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, tennis legend Andre Agassi, TV star Ashton Kutcher and Kid Rock. We don’t have to tell you who he is. All proceeds from the gala benefit diabetes research. It’s one of the great celebrity “Parties with Purpose.”
Celebrating 150 Years of Racing at Churchill Downs
There’s no better way to celebrate the arrival of spring than by going to the Kentucky Derby. It’s the most regal race of the Sport of Kings. If you’ve never been there and done that, this party should be on your list of things to do soon. Book now, and you’ll have plenty of time to choose your favorite horses as well as a head-turning race-day look. The 148th edition of the race was epic with long-shot Rich Strike snagging an unexpected victory and beating the longest odds in the race’s history (80-1).
This legendary race is over in a flash, but there are months of excitement leading up to the big day, and it’s one of those events that’s worth looking forward to all year. At our office, it’s Administrative Professionals Day, but the Derby is a close second. It also gives you a chance to visit Louisville, taste some excellent bourbon and see some beautiful sights in the Bluegrass State.
