FASHION WEEK IS THE BEST THINK TO DO IN N.Y.C. THIS FALL

October 10,2015

Hello, girls! Let talk about yoNYC Fashion Weekur plans for September. Sure, this is not a terribly exciting month. It’s all gold leaves and gray skies, but there’s other stuff going on, including one of the few things that is better than breakfast at Tiffany’s or a sale at Bergies. It’s the extravaganza known as New York Fashion Week (NYFW), and it’s time to get your tickets now.

This year, fashion will be taking over the West Village. From September 10th through the 17th, from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m., there will be a constant party as models tear up the catwalk in hot fashions that we’ll be buying next spring and next summer in 2016. The week will kick off Thursday morning with shows from Nicholas K and BCBGMaxazria and will close with two mega off-site shows from the king of modern apparel Ralph Lauren.

The all-new main venues for Fall Fashion Week 2015 are Skylight Moynihan Station and Skylight Clarkson Sq. Watch your program and check the NYFW app for events that will be happening at The Arc, The Dock, The Space and The Gallery, which are all managed by the prestigious Skylight Group in the larger buildings.

Organizers are highly excited about the new, new, NEW event format and promise that it will be more inviting for guests and visitors, not just the industry pros who are there to work. This event will be better than ever for fashion lovers, like you, who want to take in the “full cultural experience.” NYFW has also partnered with the innovative fashion, modern art, music, avant-garde community Milk MADE, which will be hosting related events and more than a dozen fashion shows from up-and-coming designers at Milk Studios. Milk made a big impression last February attracting edgy couturiers and outside-the-lines celebrities, and this fall’s event will be even better.

At the main venues, you’ll be seeing shows from old-guard fashion darlings Betsey Johnson, Anna Sui, Derek Lam, Tommy Hilfiger, Badgley Mischka, J. Crew, Rachel Zoe, Prabal Gurung, Alice and Olivia and so many others. You’ll also have a chance to discover something new from the Academy of Art University, Public School, The Art Institute, Jeremy Scott, Noon by Noor and others, including some that you haven’t even heard of, yet.

Expect some of the big shows from DKNY, Pamella Roland, Custo Barcelona, Vivienne Hu and others to take place away from the main venues, at locations like Chelsea Pier and the new Whitney Museum of American Art at 99 Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District. Cool venues, hot fashions and cutting-edge designers are what you can expect, my fashion-minded friends.
