2014 BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARD NOMINATIONS ARE IN, AND THE GUESTS ARE . . .

October 10,2015

Boop-boop! The next stop on the never-ending tour of award show season is the Billboard Music Awards. Ladies and gentlemen, please exit on the right and make your way inside the MGM Grand Garden arena for a Vegas-style welcome and Sin City-style performances. It’s no secret that the Billboard Music Awards have a little bit of everything from country to rap and rock and roll. What is a secret is how to get music award tickets to such a star-studded event.

Fear not. VIP Concierge has the answer, which will be revealed in good time once you reach the end of this post. If you really can’t wait, you could just scroll down, but then you’d miss out on all of the nominees, performances and juicy details. What a shame! We’d also have to assume that you’re one of those people who likes to enjoy dessert before your meal. However, if you are like the rest of the world and prefer to have dessert after dinner, read on.

The Award Show

Held on May 18th, 2014, the Billboard Music Awards is the perfect event to kick off a summer of fun without going to a lame Memorial Day barbeque. Why not go to Las Vegas instead and start your party a week early? Like we’ve said, this event is a musical smorgasbord, and all you need is a Billboard Music Award ticket to enjoy your fill.

Top-secret performers who’ve already been revealed include the multi-talented singer-songwriter Jason Derulo, country hunk Luke Bryan, soul man John Legend, 12-time nominees Imagine Dragons and six-member power pop/rock group OneRepublic. We all hope that they sing “Counting Stars!”

Analytically, statistically, financially and mathematically and by any other –ally, the Billboard Music Awards rank and rate the hottest acts of the year. The number people at Nielsen tally up sales, radio time, tour attendance, social media metrics and interactions on YouTube, Vevo, Spotify and every music destination that you can imagine.

The Nominees

According to all of these numbers, Imagine Dragons and Kiwi sensation Lorde land at the top of the star-studded pile with an incredible 12 nominations each. Lady Lorde racked up nominations for Top New Artist, Top Female Artist, Top 100 Artist, Top Radio Artist, Top Radio Song, Top Digital Song and plenty of others in the rock category. Imagine Dragons is competing for many of the same titles but is also up for Top Duo/Group, Top Steaming Artist and Top Streaming Song.

Luke Bryan proved his county credit by grabbing an unprecedented six nominations, including two slots in the Top Country Song category. He’s also up for Top Male Artist, Country Artist, Country Album and Top Billboard 200 Artist and Album. Whew! That’s a mouthful. Byran and top contender Imagine Dragons both received a coveted nod in the prestigious Chevrolet Milestone category, which is honoring Carrie Underwood, OneRepublic, Ellie Goulding and John Legend.

Stalwarts like Katy Perry, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Eminem, Bruno Mars and Drake also fared well, but Billboard doesn’t ignore newbies. Lorde, Ariana Grande, Capital Cities, Bastille and Passenger were each nominated as new artists. Old timers like Pink, Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen showed their undying popularity by ranking well against Beyonce and Rihanna as exceptional touring artists. From Miley Cyrus to Enrique Iglesias and Garth Brooks, the Billboard Music Awards takes the time to honor artists from every genre and category. It’s way too much to cover in one blog post, but you can get in on all of the action by snatching up a few award show tickets. We’ll take care of adding your name to the star-studded guest list.
