When Are the 2026 ACM Awards?
The Academy of County Music Awards are going down on May 17th, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada, a.k.a Sin City, U.S.A. This year, the event will return to the storied MGM Grand Garden Arena, which has hosted the Latin Grammys®, the Billboard Music Awards, and even the Grammys®. The award show starts at 8 p.m. Eastern/5 p.m. Pacific with streaming on Amazon Prime. The red carpet entrances start an hour earlier as all the country stars and their hot dates strut into the arena.
What’s Happening at the 2026 ACM Awards?
Over the past several years, the ACMs have hopped across the country visiting Dallas, Las Vegas, and three storied Nashville venues, including the Opry House, the Bluebird Café and the Ryman Auditorium. For 2026, the party is returning to its home at the MGM Garden Arena in Vegas, which hosted the event from 2003 to 2019. The event was also held at Sin City’s Allegiant Stadium before moving to Frisco, Texas, for the past several years. Y’all, we’re so excited that the event is returning to Vegas, one of the funest cities on earth!
Naturally, anticipation is already high for this celebration of the best of the best in country music award shows. Last year’s event was hosted by Reba McEntire, one of country music’s favorite and most enduring performers. With 16 ACM Awards on her mantle, this 18-time host knows more than a little about award shows. You can bet your turquoise Tony Lama boots that the ante will be raised once again with high-voltage bedazzled suits and a never-ending stream of your favorite stars as the country music award show celebrates its 61st anniversary.
World-Class Performances and Presenters
Last year, the award show featured over 20 performances, incredible mini-concerts, from more than two dozen solo performers and collaborators from country and many other genres. Fans were wowed by performances from Eric Church, Miranda Lambert, Zach Top, Blake Shelton, Lainey Wilson, Kelsea Ballerini, Chris Stapleton and the Brothers Osborne.
Alan Jackson belted out “Remember When” in honor of his eponymous ACM Lifetime Achievement Award. Jelly Roll, Shaboozey, Megan Moroney, Rascall Flatts and the Backstreet Boys performed fans’ favorite hits. There were literally too many performers to mention individually!
From a technical standpoint, the ACMs achieve extraordinary production standards. However, when you’re there in person with your VIP tickets sitting in your premium floor seats, none of this matters. You’re just there to have a good … cracking time.
Who Attends the ACMs?
Even nominees who don’t win have a blast at the ACMs. They might be disappointed, but they still enjoy being part of this assembly of masterful musicians. There are plenty of winners too. In 2025, first-time nominee Ella Langley swept the award show, taking home five trophies across the eight categories she was nominated in. Her growing trophy collection is due largely to her hit collab with Riley Green “You Look Like You Love Me.” Meanwhile, Keith Urban received the ACM Triple Crown Award for winning across three of the top categories: Best New Artist, Male/Female Artist and Entertainer of the Year during his storied career.
Who else was there? How about Nicole Kidman, Bunnie XO, Little Big Town, LeAnn Rimes, Shaboozey, Wynonna Judd and 2026 New Female Artist of the Year nominee Dasha. When you go to the ACMs, you know what it feels like to be in the presence of greatness. You could be there alongside superstars. It doesn’t get bigger or better than that in country music or any genre!
2026 ACM Nominees
It’s a great year for the Academy of County Music Awards, especially for country music’s female superstars. Megan Moroney leads the pack with nine nominations, followed by Miranda Lambert with eight nods. Meanwhile, Ella Langley and Lainey Wilson are tied with seven nominations each. Here are some of the highlights:
- Megan Moroney and Lainey Wilson are up for Entertainer of the Year alongside Luke Combs, Cody Johnson, Chris Stapleton and Jelly Roll.
- The Album of the Year category brings some surprises since none of the most-nominated artists are competing for this award. The contenders include Zach Top’s “Ain’t In It For My Health,” Carter Faith for “Cherry Valley,” Riley Green’s “Don’t Mind If I Do,” Morgan Wallen’s “I’m the Problem” and Parker McCollum for his self-titled fifth album.
- Many of the same faces are up for Male Artist of the Year, including Luke Combs, Riley Green, Cody Johnson, Chris Stapleton and Zach Top (one of our personal faves).
- It’s going to be tough fight for Female Artist of the Year. Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert, Ella Langley, Megan Moroney and Lainey Wilson vying for this coveted award.
- Group of the Year is no cake walk either. Flatland Cavalry, 49 Winchester, The Red Clay Strays and multi-time ACM winners Old Dominion and Rascal Flatts are competing for the award. Old Dominion has won this award for eight consecutive years, so it’s time for some fresh blood, just sayin’.
- On the other hand, there are plenty of fresh faces up for New Female Artist of the Year. Dasha, Avery Anna, Mackenzie Carpenter, Caroline Jones and Emily Ann Roberts have received recognition for their latest work.
- Who will be named New Male Artist of the Year? Possible winners include Gavin Adcock, Vincent Mason, Hudson Westbrook, Tucker Wetmore and Shaboozey, although he broke into the country music scene back in 2024 with his iconic hit “A Bar Song (Tipsy).”
- Song of the Year is another star-studded award category with some stiff competition, including Megan Moroney “Am I Okay?”, Ella Langley “Choosin’ Texas,” Lainey Wilson “Somewhere Over Laredo,” Zach Top “I Never Lie” and Miranda Lambert & Chris Stapleton on “A Song to Sing.” Whew! That’s one heck of a playlist!
See the ACM Awards Live and In Person
Don’t settle for watching the ACMs on Amazon Prime with 7.7 million other music fans or going to your friend’s home for Buffalo wings and ranch dressing. It’s more fun to do your own dressing in your room before catching a limo to the award show at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, which is conveniently located on the Strip between New York-New York and Planet Hollywood. Of course, you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the many attractions that the city has to offer while you’re in town, including incredible performances, world-class dining, amazing fountains and acres of gambling and shopping.
